There is a whole slew of weird science facts that we come across many times.I recently stumbled upon an article which stated some elusive reason for," Why hot water freezes faster than a cold one?" and this phenomenon is known as Mpemba effect, named after a Tanzanian student who discovered that a hot ice cream mix freezes faster than a cold mix in cookery classes in the early 1960s.
Although Aristotle was the first person to notice that hot water freezes faster than cold, but there were not enough evidences to prove that.
Now, since there are various theories on the internet but none of them is fully convincing. All the theories sums up to the fact that This effect is due of Hydrogen bonding between water molecules which is responsible for other anomalous behaviour of water , 'for instance', an abnormal property of water whereby it expands instead of contracting when the temperature is lowered from 4°C to 0°C.
